Children derive many of the same benefits from yoga that adults do: increased strength and flexibility, improved body awareness, and relaxation.
A kids yoga class encourages children to move creatively in a
noncompetitive environment while honoring each child’s unique expression
of the poses. Classes incorporate age-appropriate poses, breathing, movement,
games, music, and art and often revolve around a philosophical or
natural theme and always include some form of quiet relaxation.
Family yoga classes are structured like kids yoga classes with emphasis
on interactive and partner poses for kids and adults to do together. Family yoga classes are an opportunity to chuck the to-do list and simply enjoy each other and moving in our bodies.
